How to copy trade

Copy Trading in Prop Firm Accounts

Some prop firms allow traders to duplicate their trades across multiple accounts, a practice known as copy trading. This can be useful for scaling strategies or managing multiple accounts efficiently.

  • How It Works:
    • A master account executes trades.
    • Trades are automatically copied to follower accounts in real-time.
  • Limits Vary by Firm:
    • Some firms allow copying to 5 accounts.
    • Others, like Apex Trader Funding, allow up to 20 accounts.
  • Benefits:
    • Efficiently manage multiple funded accounts.
    • Scale profitable strategies without manually trading each account.

How I do Copy Trading?

I primarily use Apex Trader Funding, and I trade multiple accounts in a few different ways:

  1. Equal Sizing Across Accounts: Trade same number of contracts across all accounts (e.g., 5 Contracts × 10 Accounts).
  2. Tiered Sizing: Trade regular size in half of the accounts and trade double the size in the other half (e.g., 5 Contracts × 5 Accounts and 10 Contracts × 5 Accounts).

You can either use the built-in Tradovate copier to trade multiple accounts or the Trade Copier add-on for NinjaTrader.
